After decades of society telling us that children are better suited to be with their mother we now know through extensive research that a child in a single father household has the same statistical likelihood for success as being with both parents. On the other hand children growing up in single mother homes have higher rates of mental health issues, engage in drugs and alcohol at higher rates, are more likely to have behavioral issues in school, deal with depression at higher rates, and have significantly higher rates of incarceration.
